An insurance company in the Portland, OR area is looking for a Software Engineer to support custom AI capabilities to be used by enterprise systems. This person must be experienced with building three tier architecture and engineering solutioning. Strong experience with Databricks, Azure cloud, and Vector search for database needs is a must have. Must have a technical understanding of DevOps principles, Experience building Fast API's and/or Python API's for systems is a key skill as well. This role has a UI component when supporting the AI product that will be customer facing, so experience with Angular or React to build custom interfaces is a part of the role. In a senior level engineering position, this person will be leading team members and providing knowledge into the latest technology / processes. This person will be 40% hands on, 40% leading the team, and 20% supporting AI components. This team sits remotely but works core PST hours.

Bachelor's Degree preferred, open to High School Diploma or GED
Insurance experience or experience working with regulated data, such as in banking, finance, or healthcare fields
8+ years of experience building scalable and reliable API's, services, and applications
Experience as a Software Engineer, Fullstack Engineer, Data Engineer, or related field
Senior experience with Databricks
Azure Cloud experience
Experience with AI search such as Vector Search or DSPy frameworks
Experience building user friendly interfaces with Angular and/or React
REST API and/or Python API experience
Understanding of core DevOps principles
Experience working with AI technology or products
